BEING A CONTENT CREATOR IS AN INVESTMENT

Image
I wrote on my WhatsApp status a few weeks ago, that being a content creator is more than just turning on your camera and saying “hello, welcome back to my channel.” It is an investment!  Fortunately, a few start-up creators like me agreed and with our discussion, I realize we all face similar difficulties as content creators. Honestly, having to go through the process of creating content can be tiring. Sometimes, thinking about it stresses you out before you start the process. From pre-production (content research & strategy, script writing, location hunting, prepping up to look good ), to production (Shooting videos, taking thumbnail pictures), and post-production (editing and publishing). All this, done by one person within limited time and budget can be a lot. Especially, if you leave in a country like Nigeria where there are bigger forces, fighting against your willpower (like PHCN & Network providers). Well, “where there is a will, there is a way.” Here are a fe...

CAREER SUCCESS: A KEY TO FINANCIAL FREEDOM

Image
Hi guys, welcome back to my blog. It's been 4 blogs within a month and I am grateful for the consistency so far. Today, I want us to talk about something pertinent, CAREER SUCCESS. A few days ago, I posted a tweet saying, “I will rather spend my time investing in a future of financial freedom, than waste my time working for money.” and that spiked a conversation with a long-time colleague of mine. Well, before I get into the whole gist, let's define what  “career success” is. According to Forbes , Career Success is a combination of achieving a reasonable level of financial stability while doing work you enjoy and then finding that you are also happy and fulfilled with your life and career choices as well. Firstly, your career should never be chosen as a way of making ends meet (ie. Just to earn a salary at the end of the month). Here is the mistake many people make.  Well, I know we leave in a tough economy. The rate of inflation in many countries is high and we all trying ...

YOUR ANTIDOTE TO LACK OF FAITH

Image
Life, sometimes, can be frustrating. One moment you are rejoicing and the next, you are confused, sad, angry or even tired of living. Lately, I felt this way. One moment I am bubbling with joy and hope, the next moment I don't even know where my faith is (regardless of the fact, that my name is even faith....lol😅). I'm sure I am not the only one who has gone through moment that makes one ask’ “Where is God?” “Does God hears me?” or “Does He exist?” Truth is, He does and He is present in every season of our lives. We only need to work on our FAITH! Faith as the Bible says is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). As Christians we ought to live by Faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). So, imagine not having the one ingredient, needed in our lives for the good we hope for to happen and yet blaming God for our situation 🤷🏾‍♀️. It's just like having the medicine to cure disease and not using it! So, here are three antidotes I...

IF YOU LIVE IN A GLASS HOUSE, DO NOT THROW STONES! (Storytime)

Image
Once upon a time lived two women, from two villages in the Yoruba land. One was a palm oil seller & the other sells sawdust. Between their villages was a river dividing them, with just a little path that can barely contain two people at a time to go through. On one faithful day, these women had to go through each other villages to go sell their goods. They both met on this tiny path and started debating on who should give way for the other person, to pass through first.  Their debate lasted a while, other villagers who also needed to go through that path met them there and finally, it became pandemonium. “Let me go, no you let me go!” The quarrel continued, until the villagers around, charged them into a fight. Whoever wins, goes first. So, these two women dropped their goods to wrestle. Within a few seconds, the palm oil seller won and the villagers on her side were happy. Mistakenly, as the sawdust seller was about to stand up from the defeat, her leg hits her o...

DO NOT SEND THAT CV, UNTIL YOU HAVE READ THIS!

Image
Over the past four months, since I left my former job, I had no other plan, but to upskill and hunt for a new job like every other jobless person will do. I did!  I started taking new courses, getting certifications, and reaching out to one of my mentors Omotayo Sobayo with a lot of questions including how to create a CV like a marketing personnel (lol, who does that  🙊 ). Oh well, there is nothing wrong with the above, but when I started receiving rejection letters, I knew there was something I was probably missing out on. What could it be? That curiosity, made me jump on the Remote Readiness Bootcamp (RRB) by Temi Oyewole on the 4th of October,2022 when I went on Instagram and the advert was the first thing that popped up on my timeline (PS: I took a second thought to decide whether to take the course or not, cause I didn't wanna go broke for just another random course, but I did anyways  😅 ). The Bootcamp held about a week later, and I am grateful I did participate i...
